We’re running into a bit of a challenge at Surbiton Decca when it comes to recruitment. Unlike most clubs, we don’t have weekly training – we just come together to play a handful of games across the year. It’s a great, social setup, but it does make it harder to bring new players in and keep numbers ticking over.

I’m sure there are other clubs out there with a similar “casual” or low-commitment model, so I wanted to ask – what’s worked for you? How do you attract players when there isn’t that regular weekly touchpoint? Have things like social events, alumni networks, or one-off taster games made a difference?

Keen to hear any ideas or experiences that could help us grow the squad without changing what makes the club what it is.
