Watch Live: England Defend Their Title at the Blind Rugby World Championships in Tokyo
The 2026 Blind Rugby World Championships are taking place in Tokyo, Japan, on 6–7 November, with England, Ireland and hosts Japan competing for the world title.
England arrive as reigning world champions, having lifted the trophy in 2023, and will be looking to defend their crown against two nations helping to grow the sport internationally.
Played in a seven-a-side format, Visually Impaired Rugby (VI Rugby) is an adapted version of rugby union that enables people living with sight loss to enjoy competitive rugby. The game retains rugby’s teamwork, physicality and communication, with adaptations to improve accessibility and player safety.
The tournament takes place at Komazawa Olympic Park and provides another opportunity to showcase the sport to a wider audience.
