London Welsh is one of the most famous names in World rugby boasting a long and illustrious history and being the only club sides to not only have 7 players representing the British Lions in a single test series but for that British Lions side to beat the All Blacks. With over 160 players representing their countries internationally since our formation in 1885.

Whilst the proffesional arm of the club was competing in the premiership, the amateur side was still playing regularly at the spiritual homeground of Old Deer Park Richmond in the Middlesex Div 1 and it is this Amateur side that took over the sole responsibility of carrying the London Welsh banner in the English leagues when the Proffesional side were removed from the English leagues.

It is this amateur side that is now trying to restore London Welsh Rugby Clubs position in the National leagues and so far we have been promoted as champions in 3 successive years, now playing at level 6 with a view in our five year plan of reaching level 5.

Below our 1st XV though we run a Druids 2nd XV that feeds the 1st XV and is playing in the Middlesex Merit Premier division and also a Dragons 3rd XV which is forming and playing friendlies as well as a Vets side in the Middlesex Veterans Friday night league.

Our women play in NC 1 South East (North) and are always looking to recruit new players.

The one thing you can guarantee whatever side that you play for at London Welsh is it will be an experience like no other, from the excellent coaching and historic playing field to the wonderful social side and our huge supporter base.
