More than 20 years ago, a small group of rugby enthusiasts came together in Greece with a shared passion for the sport. Inspired by their love of the game, they soon decided to form a club. With several founding members hailing from South Africa, it felt only natural to incorporate the nickname of the South African national team—the “Springboks”—alongside the name of the region where the club was born: Attica. And so, the Attica Springboks were founded.

As the years passed, the club grew and evolved. In an effort to become more integrated with the local culture and embrace a broader vision for the future of rugby in Greece, we transitioned to the name Attica Rugby. This change reflects our commitment to becoming a truly Greek club, rooted in the local community while still honoring our diverse origins. Today, we work closely with the wider Greek rugby community to grow the sport, promote inclusivity, and inspire the next generation of players.
