Our Story
It Started With One Cancelled Fixture.
I was a club captain trying to put a team out on a Saturday.
As Friday evening approached, it became clear we weren’t going to have enough players.
Like so many volunteers across grassroots rugby, I’d spent the week sending messages, making phone calls and trying every contact I had.
In the end, we had to cancel the fixture.
Not because people didn’t care.
Not because they didn’t want to play.
Simply because we couldn’t find each other.
That moment made me realise something.
Grassroots rugby is full of passionate players, clubs, coaches and volunteers, but too often they’re working in isolation.
Players are looking for clubs.
Clubs are looking for players.
Fixtures are cancelled.
Volunteers are hard to find.
Knowledge stays locked inside individual clubhouses.
There had to be a better way.
That simple idea became Fill Your Boots.
Today, it’s grown into a community of thousands of members and hundreds of clubs, all connected by one shared goal: helping grassroots rugby thrive.
And we’re only just getting started.
